Atik Cameras

Howdy

been looking at these on Andrews, has anyone used them? they seem good quality, but $2200 for only 1390*1040 seems a bit pricey to me

can anyone comment on them?

thanks

For that much money, I'd rather pay $300 more and get a 6MP Orion Starshoot Pro. 1.44MP v 6MP...no contest.

actually, if you order the Orion SSP II from Optcorp in the states, it works out to be $1700

I had an ATiK 16IC and it was a great little camera. Sorry I sold it now. It only had a small chip, and the TEC wasn't regulated, but it was a great little performer.

I don't know about Paul. Jan is well known on the Atik yahoo group. He has a 16ic. This is his web site http://www.thefirmament.nl

I have a 16ic I plan to use as a guide camera and get a 314L+ for imaging.

I'm sure I've got some other somewhere, but these are quick at hand. A quick mono Jewel Box and my first RGB (ignore the colour and processing ) of the Glob in Corona Australis

Why not look at the QHY range of cameras? Very well priced and very good performers. QHY8 $2500 8MP OSC.

For what it's worth, here's the linearity and transfer curves for the 16IC. Measured as explained through Berry and Burnell's AIP4WIN. The last two are the dark current graph and the spectral sensitivity.
