Artefacts when Venus over-sharpened

Any ideas why I'm getting weird artefacts along the terminus of Venus when I push the wavelets in RS6? I don't get these artefacts when imaging Saturn, Jupiter and deep space, but I recently removed the secondary mirror for regular cleaning and re-collimated the scope without any obvious dramas. I was thinking, maybe it was the very low gain setting. Unity gain for ASI224MC is 300 in FiireCapture.

My usual set up and workflow
C9.25" @ f/20
ZWO ASI224MC
Celestron X-Cel LX 2x barlow
ZWO IR cut filter
FireCapture (Gain=125; Exposure=1ms; Gamma=off)
Single 600s movie shot at dusk
AS!3 (best 19 000 frames)

The first shot shows the edge-rind effect: https://skyinspector.co.uk/mars-edge-artefact/

The second shows APs (alignment poiints) artifacts within the planetary disc. Too small and too many of them or placed too close together.

Thanks! Will look into and see if I can get a better result.
