ZWO OAG L adapter??

I mistakenly purchased a ZWO OAG L that is not compatible with my efw. My efw does not have the mounting holes as the larger ones do.
Has anyone overcome this? Or am I best to purchase a ZWO OAG?

Do you have any picture? I would have thought it fairly Straight forward to adapt?

Unfortunately I do not think they can be, not without getting adapters made anyway which would chew up back focus distance. The OAG that is designed for the new filter wheels does not have a thread on the camera side.

The only way that I can think of to attach it to an older FW that has an M42 threaded input would be to get an adapter plate made which screws in to the filter wheel and the OAG bolts to the other side of as it is designed to do. Aside from the back focus consumption, the adapter would probably cost as much as a new OAG. That or if there is someone you trust to do it, drilling and tapping the cover plate of the FW with the correct threaded holes and then have it re anodised? That would be a job needing precision or it could turn in to an expensive mess.

Hey Josh, how would you do it, make an adapter (As thin as possible) to add an M42 thread to the camera side of the OAG, or mark up then drill and tap the filter wheel cover? Either way needs four small, fine threaded holes to be drilled and you would need the filter wheel cover in both cases so that for an adapter, you could spin up the M42 thread then trial fit to the FW and determine the right places for holes to fit the OAG in the right orientation.

Hi Guys,

Id make a model of the filterwheel cover in CAD, then CNC drill the holes in the right place. re anodise afterward if needed.

Cheers
Josh
