.965" in a 1.25" ?

Is there any disadvantages in using a .965" ep in a 1.25" focuser with an appropriate adapter?

Trevor,
No, not really.
It comes down to the eyepiece design....
(I have a VERY old Ziess Monocentric which is 0.9" - it's worked well for the past twenty years)

No , I have a very old Ortho 6mm in .965 and its a very good high power eyepiece , especially the planets as were the Zeiss .965's that came with my ( now sold ) Telementor .

+1

my vintage 0.965" 9mm, 6mm and 4mm Orthos work absolutely fine in
my shorter FL 12" Newt(F4.5)
Ideally they were for the longer FL (F6-F7) type Newt but work fine , purely because they are just classy, well made Jap eyepieces from a bygone era.
