Connecting a Nikon camera

Hi all,

Apologies for all the noob questions.

I'm still trying to sort out all the basics in my head! I am looking to connect my Nikon camera to NINA. The EQR-6 pro has a SNAP port for DSLR cameras (I think...)

What is the best setup? To connect DSLR to mount, and mount to computer? Or connect DSLR directly to computer via USB port? Or a third option?? Which cables will I need for this (Nikon)?

Cheers,
Stéphane

Stephane,
Have a look at Backyard Nikon ( it may be suitable for your model , don’t know )
I use Backyard EOS for my Canon DSLR , IMO the best capture software for Canon DSLR’s (you just need a USB2 A to USB mini B cable to link the DSLR to your laptop ( max 5m cable length )
Has frame , focus , capture plan , dither function , planetary mode etc.. and lots more. So easy to use it’s ridiculous
I use APT for my cooled OSC and have briefly looked at the DSLR mode which to me looks busy and complicated, much prefer BYEOS for my DSLR , and leave APT for cooled OSC.

Cheers
Martin
