Brisbane is now a pretty big conurbation extending north south and west. With that goes the usual urban light pollution and worst of all - neighbours. If you plan doing some astro, it would be wise to check out places a bit beyond that mess. There are a few I might mention such as Dayboro, Mt. Mee but if being on or close to rail is a non-negotiable, the list gets much shorter.

Yeah BrisVegas is a big ol' sprawl, up Col's way prolly isn't too bad (bay to the east), as it's mostly light blighted by the city to the south.

For occasional astro "trips" out, it's pretty easy to get acceptable darkness about an hour out though.
