I recently bought a Raspberry Shake and Boom to measure both seismic ground waves and infrasound waves in the atmosphere.
The infrasound waves can be used to detect meteors and bolides (as well as lightning, gun shots fireworks, atmospheric gravity (pressure) waves (not to be confused with gravitational waves!), etc.
Is anyone else using a Raspberry Boom for meteor and bolide detection?
My installation is not very good ATM as I have it inside the house, so it's sitting on a floating floor. When I sort out a suitable power and network solution I'll re-install the Shake and Boom to the Observatory to reduce a lot of noise from the house and give a more direct connection to the ground for the seismograph.
These screen shots are from the first detection in infrasound that I'm confident is a meteor. The wave form is the classic N shaped wave of of a class I meteor. Class II meteors have a double N shape (peak, trough, peak, trough), Class III meteors have a triple N shape and Class IV covers all larger numbers of peaks and troughs in the signature (so usually larger bolides).
First image is the wave form as detected on my Shake and Boom.
The second image is the spectrogram (frequency analysis v time) of the wave form.
The third image is the wave form as displayed on ShakeNet after calibration of the signal to indicate pressure in Pascals.
Times are in UTC except for the pressure graph which is AEDT.
If anyone would like to have a look at the live stream data from my Shake and Boom, it is can be found on the ShakeNet website in Data view and my Shake and Boom is R21C0. EHZ is the seismograph channels (vertical) and HDF is the infrasound channel. You can also view live data from any other Raspberry Shake and/or Boom installed anywhere in the world on ShakeNet.

Reason: afterthought.
Interesting stuff Al .Due to all the rain I have just been reading how infrasound may well be one of the methods homing pigeons use to navigate.I will be interested to see your results over time.

I couldn't find anyone in Australia selling them. I found one website that had them, but it was old and no longer operating. I bought mine direct from:
