Swap Out My C8 for SW 120 APO ?

Hi. I am not sure if this is the right forum for my questions.

I am kind of stuck half here and there.

I have CGX800, F/6.3 reducer, focus motor, and V4 Hyperstsr.

I like the Hyperstar - very forgiving, but, very widefield

Simply swapping out your F/2, to say F/6.3 ot F/10, isn't quite as easy as suggested. It ends in endless collimation problems.

And so, I am cosidering selling the lot ( except mount ), and moving to a more expensive SW 120ED APO . My major interest is DSO imaging.

Your thoughts welcome.

Cheers,

Doc

If your major interest is DSO imaging absolutely go for it, you'll never look back.

I am a refractor guy and the main reason is the “plug and play” nature of it. They mimic my lenses and I just can’t be bothered with the collimation requirements of reflectors (for now… if I had a permanent setup I’ll think about it)
And my next scope is also going to be an Esprit 120 so I say go for it
Get the reducer as well!!
