A visit to Fuerteventura astro park

Hi,
We have just arrived home after our travel to Fuerteventura at Canary Islands. It was a tourist trip but we always try to add something about astronomy. We have read about Fuerteventura's dark places, areas that are protected against light pollution. We visited one, the Sicasumbre astro viewpoint during daytime as an orientation.

One problem, it was very strong winds, it was like to be inside a sand blastering machine.

Hi All,
Fuerteventura must be an exotic and very far place for you to visit. Almost halfway around the globe. Happy to hear you liked the report.

Now in November it's even dark in Sweden. Today I dust of my astronomy equipment for the comet Leonard. But after visted Fuerteventure it isn't so exiting to do astrophotography in a Bortle class 9 area. My new setup with a HEQ5 mount is much lighter than the EQ6 mount setup, but still too heavy to take on air travels.
