Eagle Nebula

After spending too many years crawling around on my knees trying to see in the viewfinder of a DSLR, I've finally graduated to an OSC Astrocam. My first attempt at the Statue of Liberty nebula with the Z61 was not much chop with lots of user error on my part but my second effort went smoother. This is 4 x 4minute exposures with just the IR filter and 3 x 8 minute exposures with the UHC filter as the moon rose. Stacked in ASI deep sky stacker along with half a dozen matching 0c degree/gain 180 darks I'd taken a few afternoons previously and then worked in photoshop elements. I bought elements new in box when it was version 4 and still use it, and am still learning things about it.

WO Flurostar 120mm, Z61 guiding via PC with Nina etc.

A very natural feel to your image... great to see you nailing it.

Hi John,

Just echoing what Alex said - a very natural looking image, with a gloriously restrained palette of colours.

Now, the Hubble 'SHO' palette is all well and good and has it's place. I prefer the more restrained colour schemes.

Cheers,
V
