Ngc4038/4039

Hi

Attached is an image of the antennae galaxy pair ngc 4038/4039 (Arp 244)..

Taken from my home obs in the suburbs of Melbourne with a GSO RC14 + ASI2600MC OSC camera + EQ8 mount.

Total of 7hrs exposure and processed with APP.

Small full frame at 30% full size attached with a central crop at 70% size in low res; better image here for download (70% full size, full frame):

https://flic.kr/p/2nnzQCs

Seeing was good over the 3 sessions that this was taken & averaged below 1.8" with moments at <1.5"

I've been waiting for more clear skies to add more data to this, but it doesn't look like that is going to happen anytime soon.

Cheers
Maurice

Nice work Maurice

Lots of detail showing in the cores and the arms (antenna) are starting to show.

Keep your data safe and add to it when you can.

Well done

Cheers David.
I was lucky to get some nights of good seeing.
Aside from some basic stretching and DDP, not much was done to the data.

Narrow field imaging is rarely done to this standard.

Love your work.

excellent detail. I guess that's a given from a 14" scope

Well done, Maurice.

Thank you Marcus.
I wish that I had skies as dark as yours though.
