Orion and De Mairan's Nebula

Hi all,

I haven't posted for some time due to a new job and stupidly early starts, the poor scope was gathering dust. I did have my RC8 reduced down to 1055mm but have taken it back to 1222mm for a slightly narrower FOV, to get more detail hopefully.

I had some clear skies last night so I took advantage of it, I did NGC 300 as well but wasn't happy with the processing of it for now. Towards the end of the night and nearly 24 hours awake I quickly took 10 x 180 sec subs to check how the framing would be for when I mosaic.

I am very happy I put in the time to collimate the scope, defocused star showed the results.

Here is the result.

Nice work, Karl. Good, tight round stars and a pleasing final result.

How was the wind with you last night?
