C9.25, focusers and controller, dewshield

Heading in a new direction,as far as astronomy is concerned, and so must clear the decks.

Reluctantly, I'm putting my Celestron 9.25" (XLT) SCT OTA up for sale.

This one is a pearler. Optically it's an outstanding unit. It comes with a story I'd be happy to share with the prospective buyer. It literally was hand-picked from among a number of tested units.

It remains in excellent condition. Cosmetically, it's in very nice shape, apart from the expected marks on the dovetail from securing it in the mount.

It still has its original box and packaging, stamped in the USA.

I'm also including aftermarket focussers: both MoonLite and a Feathertouch. The former attaches at the prime focus and is motorised for fine focus while imaging and is a very impressive unit, controlled by the provided hand controller, while the Feathertouch is a lovely bit of kit which replaces the original (manual) coarse focuser and is likewise a manually operated focuser. Anyone who has a Feathertouch...or has used one, will know how great they are.

And I'll include the Celestron dewshield as part of the package.

All up, I paid just over $3500 for this lot....

I'll take $900 off....and let it go for $2600. Buyer to pay for and organise shipping. I'm happy to deliver up to around 100km from Brisbane...local pick-up is also OK.

Please....all questions via PM....

I'll post pics later.

Hi Matt,

Does this scope have the Starbright XLT coatings and it is Fastar compatible?

Cheers

Here's an image of the focuser and hand controller, which is a part of this excellent package.

It's the CS1-S model (which fits the C9.25 and other scopes) and comes with the DC motor option with hand controller.

This is a custom gold anodized unit and features the compression ring draw tube option upgrade.

Cost me about $550 landed to my door.

And I found a quick sample image taken with this scope, to demonstrate the quality of the optics.

This was taken with the basic ToUcam Pro II...not with the DMK which I have used in more recent times for better quality RGB imaging.

I can find and email others if you'd like to see them.

No idea, Pat.

I could send you the dimensions of the box and overall weight.

You'd be able to calculate it from that.

Pat - I use E-go couriers for almost everything large I send... I sent my C11 from Brisbane to sydney for $109, it was a monster box, and it was damned heavy with all the accessories that I sold with it..

E-go use Hunter Express as their primary carrier, The quality and price of service and promptness of deliveries have never ceased to amaze me..

OK...

Dimensions are 76x41x44 (LWH)

Entire package weighs 15kg.

It's likely any freight company will use the cubing rule, rather than weight to calculate shipping cost.

I don't recall receiving a pm from you, Duncan?

If I can find a buyer for the Moonlite CS1 motorised focuser...I'll certainly consider it.

Just found another image taken with this scope...

Which I'm happy to sell separately from the Moonlite focuser, if need be.

It still comes with the replacement Feathertouch manual focuser, which replaces the original stock rubber focusing knob.

Any interest in the OTA alone?

Let me know via pm...before I consider selling this through other channels.

Price drop

Hi all.

I've had a lot of interest and questions about this unit...but so far, no sale.

I'm keen to see this go to a good home..so with that in mind, I'm willing to reduce this in price by $100

That now makes it $2500....

Buyer still needs to pay and organise shipping.
