Dithering problem

Can anyone please help me. I have been dithering ok up until recently. I can still guide but cannot dither. I am using canon 600D, EQ6R, BYEOS software.
when I try to dither or use the test button in settings, the BYEOS program freezes at the PHD port stage. I have tried IP port 4300 and 4400, to no avail.
Thanks, Rob

Rob,
Here’s a few things to look at ……,
Have you checked in PHD2 that Enable Server is On ?? It’s located in Tools drop down at the top.
This function enables PHD2 to talk to other programs like BYEOS via Ascom
Secondly in PHD2 , Advanced Settings , Global , at the bottom of the tab make sure you select Random mode and set dither scale to 1.0.
Also make sure you use the same physical USB ports on your lappy each time when you unplug and plug in the mount and camera each time.
Generally using 4300 or 4400 port should work , I use 4300 in APT
Worse case scenario would be to remove both PHD2 and BYEOS on your Lappy then update Ascom , mount and camera drivers and reload PHD2 and BYEOS again.

Cheers
Martin

Thanks for your suggestions Martin. I'll work through them and then repost my findings. I think my phd and byeos are up to date. I've haven't updated ASCOM for some time. that might be it. It's just odd that it stopped working even though I haven't changed any settings. I was imaging the Leo triplet last night and tried a manual type of dithering by turning off the guiding for 20seconds every 10th image to allow the error in my sidereal tracking to change the position of the stars on the sensor. It's a bit labour intensive but will see if it worked after stacking. Cheer, Rob.
