Hi Rob, I'm interested but can't inspect until Saturday 1st May.

Couple of questions though:

1. Roughly how old is the scope? I think I read somewhere that Bintel changed the mount point on the OTA at some stage, their current model is apparently much better at locking into position. I could be thinking of Skywatcher though.

2. You haven't mentioned any specific issues / wear & tear - is there anything of note?

3. Again not sure if it's due to the OTA's age or simply an oversight in your description, Bintel says all their current BT-??? OTA's come with a 2" wide field eyepiece which you haven't mentioned.

4. No mention of Bintel's included moon filter, if it's a 2" to go with the eyepiece is that also available? I already have a 1.25" filter so don't need the original if it's that size.

Cheers,
Rob

Hi Rob and Colin
The scope was purchased new from Bintel in Dec 2010, so 11 years old now.
The GSO SV 30mm 68* eyepiece and neutral density filter which Bintel now include in their package are not part of this sale.
The tube and mount and optics are in all in very good condition, the bearings allow smooth movements, and the brakes are effective even when heavier eyepieces unbalance the tube. The scope has always been kept indoors and has a fitted full-length cotton cover to prevent dust or insects entering the tube.
I have a few photos on my iPad but still trying to get these into the advt on IIS, I could send these to you as email attachments,
I am not able to offer inspections of the scope this weekend but when I return to Sydney where the scope is around May 8 I could show you then.
Thanks for your enquires
Rob
