leonard with long twisty tail

Hi all
Took this one last night
but forgot to reset my iso after locating and focusing
So ended up taking a stack of 15 images at iso 10000
didn’t realize till I got home.
had to use a lot of noise reduction in photo shop
but check out how long the tail is now
and what would cause the twisting in the tail?
Is the comet spinning? Has a piece broken off?

Nikon D850, Tamron 150-600 G2
lens at 300mm f/5.6 iso 10,000 40 seconds

15 subs lights flats and darks
stacked in deep sky stacker and processed in photoshop

Another great shot again Mick. I'm envious of your dark western skies over that Indian Ocean. This comet's tail is becoming ridiculous, we will end up reducing our focal lengths to 100mm just to fit it all into one frame! 😄

hi Mickoid
i live in bortle 4 and only 25 min drive to bortle 2 so im pretty lucky
i also spend a lot of winter time in the gold fields so hoping to get some great shots later in the year with my star tracker
and yes this shot was at 300mm and i still missed the top part of it lol
