d-slr - lens FOV

how do you calculate the fov of a given d-slr & a lens
eg i have an olympus e500 with crop factor of 2.0 & a 50mm prime..is it easy or difficult to work out the fov without actually taking any shots??

A little bit of trigonometry will certainly help :-)
Excel file attached.

and, there is no such thing as "crop factor". Forget about this nonsense.

Daniel,
just in case you did not do it yourself already, I slightly re-arranged the spreadsheet so it is more intuitive now.

You should enter the size of the sensor of you camera and FL of lens (in metres, yellow cells), and the FOV will be calculated for you.
I also protected the spreadsheet (no password) to prevent from accidental entries into formula cells
