Always slips out of alignment and is very difficult to align in the first place.

Thanks Lachlan. Should be getting it TODAY! Not concerned about the polar scope - my eyes aren't as good as yours so I've been using drift align for some time & more recently a polemaster.

If I had unlimited money, I would have gone for an EQ6-R, because I never use the alt-az function. Quite handy for compact transport though!

Weight & portability has become a bit of an issue for me, but I did come close to getting the EQ6-R

Love the dual head and the counterweight extension bar. The actual scope mounting is just annoying compared to an EQ6-R as they are 2 bolts. Rather annoying when you get scratches all along your dovetail bar.

Probably end up replacing the saddle with a 3rd party dual head sometime in the future, I know ADM offer them.

The final thing that I have found with the mount is the pier extension. It's really good when I'm using a big scope (Newt/long refractor) but I've found there's a lot of wobble with it. Very close to trying to remove the extension and use some sort of pipe or metal to replace it (Bunnings here I come)

I got the standard EQ tripod as I did read a few reports of people having issues with the extensions. I will be adding one later, don't know yet if it will be the 41cm SW one or a slightly shorter DIY model.

Mark, hope you enjoy the mount. Its a great in-between from a HEQ5 and a EQ6R.

I'm sure I will, despite the forecast for the next week not being the best - it will give me time to play a little & get everything configured.
Cheers
