Dew heater strip for Pocket Powerbox Advance Gen2

Hey guys,

Just purchased the Pegasus powerbox 2.

Was reading about Dew heaters and getting slightly overwhelmed.

How does the controller know how much heat is it imparting to the scope? is it simply a matter of power = voltagexcurrent? If that is the case will any heater strip off the internet do?

Any suggestions for a good dew heater strip for a skywatcher ED80?

Thanks,

Dilshan

There’s a lot to keep on top of in this hobby. But if there’s one thing you shouldn’t overthink, it’s dew heaters.

Just plug and play and let the Pegasus do the job for you.
Chuck the temperature probe in and walk away%

I have used heaters from SVBony and PrimaLuceLab. My current ones are the latter. I’ve got a couple for the 80ED as well

Thanks Adam,

Since we have the same scope do you mind telling me which one exactly you got?

Cheers,

Sure. Looks like I've got

2 x SVBony 172
1 x SVBony 192
1 x PLL 100mm
1 x PLL 150mm
1 x PLL 60mm

I used the PLL 100mm for a long time on the Evostar

Have used the smaller SVBony ones as well, but tend to stick to PLL because they're not USB powered.
