Lobster au naturel

After a very average attempt at SHO I was advised to start again

I gave up on the SHO and went back to a HSO RGB using the KISS principle.

This is an attempt to display the nebula as close to the natural colour as I could manage.

Specs:
HSO 6 hrs each (5m subs). The Ha provided the most information.
RGB 1.5 hrs each (30s subs).
Total integration 22hrs.

Comments appreciated.

Thanks for looking

That's a well cooked Lobster, took me a few minutes to get my head around the orientation, could use a slightly wider field maybe. Other than that it's damn fine effort and a long imaging run.

Peter,
A mammoth effort there but it sorta looks clipped to me, black clipped
I reckon there’s so much more hidden data to come out as 22 hrs on this target is huge
I’m only spending 4 or 5 hours with my L Extreme on similar targets and detail when I stack in DSS , stretch the linear data in Startools is blowing me away
In fact I’m imaging the lobster tonight with 3 minute subs using my OSC 2600MC and L Extreme and 4 or 5 hours should be more than adequate
Your capturing loads of data , just gotta work out how to extract it and process it out
9/10 for effort with a doubt
Martin

Thanks Jeff
Orientation: One day I will get a rotator. FOV: No choice there, might get out the 80mm just for fun.

Thanks for responding M.

I have just had an epiphany...
Using SHO narrow band data to make an RGB image is not the way to go, at least for feint nebula.
If you choose to go RGB, then gather RGB data, simple as that.

Regards to the data that I have, I will go back to the future and create a SHO image of the Lobster
