Ouch! If anyone pruned my collection I'd be ... well ... well ... annoyed!

I remember the Lensman series. I read them as a boy. No idea where they are now, though: my folks cleared out hundreds of books (from a collection of 2000+) over the years due to no space left, otherwise you could have them.
