Amp glow seems to be an issue with the 294m chip but what I have read is that it seems to calibratre out. Is that true?
Anything else I have missed?

Amp glow exists in all the CMOS cameras except the 2600 (APSc size) and 6000 (full frame) sensors.
Yes amp glow will calibrate out in a QHY294M.
Because CMOS have other settings its good to fix your standard exposure times, stick to one temperature setting and make sure you have all the darks and flats you need whilst its setup. I test them calibrating an actual image I am going to use them on to make sure they all work.
CMOS don't have mechanical shutters so you need to be able to cap the camera to take darks, flats etc. You need to be able to do that.
All the more reason to minimise the number of darks you'll need etc. They all need to be done using the same settings.
