EQ8R-Pro

Hi folks
breaking in this mount and I am at the PPEC stage. Trying to find some info on the period of the worm. PEMPRO has a calculator where you enter the number of teeth and in the manual it says it has '200 segments'. Do I interpret this correctly to mean the number of teeth on the worm, or does anyone have a more accurate value for the period of the worm?

thanks
martin

I trained mine with the built in PPEC. I use GSS to drive the mount (not the hand controller) and GSS has the functions to start the training and enable/disable it.

Hi Martin,

Just to add to this, I have subsequently worked out how to record and create the pec curve in pempro and then train the EQ8 pec based on that. The advantage is you get to see what the curve looks like over multiple worm cycles before training the mount. I used GSS to invoke the mounts ppec training while pempro played it back. To retain sync it all needs to be done in the same session.

Thanks.
I have returned the EQ8R. Dec would not calibrate and the in-built USB hub had problems that really screwed up the software and OS on the host PC.

Regards
Martin
