Frankencam

After rather a long wait, an adapter arrived from Precise Parts in the USA to allow me to use my SBIG CFW+ AstroDons , SC3 and Adaptive optics with a QHY600 back end.....now all I need are some clear skies

Very nice. That's a large adapter. How does the camera's dovetail fit into the adapter?

Greg.

I believe the adapter is bolted on Greg. Those three thumbscrews grip onto the cameras dovetail.

Right, that would be nice and strong.

Greg.

I believe the camera adapter from PP is bolted to the FW front cover, but the camera 'nosepiece' is screwed (M54) into the PP adapter.

But Greg - the answer to your specific question is that the camera's dovetail, slips into the camera nosepiece and is fixed in place by 3 thumbscrews.

Correct?
