C11 hyperstar first light EAA

GDay folks,

My C11 got first light a few nights ago. Its been a long wet season!
It’s a significant upgrade from my C925 visually.

I got it with a hyperstar! Never used one before and had first light with it yesterday.
This was my first EAA session with it.

400s total integration time.

No longer “impatiently waiting” i see! Nice effort!!
I’m on a similar journey as you but with an 8inch edge HD. Hyperstar is a bit of a wild animal that needs to be tamed and the more time you spend with it the tighter the image will get. I reckon you can play around with the spacing between the Hyperstar and your camera which may help with the coma in the corners. Focus is also really vital and many recommend an eaf (but I’m still persisting with my bahtinov for the time being).
Interested to know how long your subs were in this one?
Keep it up and I look forward to seeing how you progress!

Thanks David,

100x4s lights only.
I used a celestron motor focuser, using multi star FHWM in Sharp cap. Manually, haven’t worked out how to use the autofocus routine yet.
I just tightened the camera adapter down, and didn’t play with tilt adjustment screws...I presume altering spacing would be simply by adding extension tubes to the camera.

Cheers
