Basic lunar shots

Hopefully some more encouragement for newbies; simplest possible technique. 8" f/5 Newt, single JPEG exposures, Canon 1100D, eyepiece projection, taken about 10yrs ago.
Of course, if taken today using the same gear, they wouldn't be quite as sharp, what with the Moon being 380mm further away.

Raymo,

once again you have given me courage
and confidence to post an image.

I was holding off but let's just get it out there.

First light with some new equipment, 11.09.21.

Skywatcher Evoguide 50ED with flattener.
ZWO178MC.

Single lucky image,
ASICAP via Samsung S10.
Exposure: 30ms
Gain: 2

Processed in Snapseed.

Thanks for looking.

You reckon that is basic Raymo, you should have seen mine some years ago, nice and crisp.

Good effort Paul, but I wonder what the strange edge is at the 4 to 6 o'clock
position.

It is pretty basic Leon, just a telescope, a camera, and an eyepiece, JPEG
single exposure, straight out of the camera except for a tiny bit of sharpening in Irfanview. I don't see how it could be more basic than that.
cheers raymo

That’s a lovely bumpy old moon. Great choice of shadow and light area.
