Congrats. And yes, pics of your set up are absolutely positively mandatory. We live vicariously for this stuff.

You have good company around these parts should you ever need any assistance.

Have you guys noticed that since the introduction of the PMX that the resale value of the PME has plummeted?

Not that I'll ever sell mine.

Pics will follow - I was too excited last night to take any photos.

My only issue is with attaching it to my pier. I had an adapter plate custom made and the screw holes are ever so slightly off so I can presently bolt it onto the pier with only 3 rather than 4 bolts. I'll have to bolt it on from underneath I think.

Its a thing of beauty though - especially the reassuring hum as it powers up. What a change from the EQ6!

If you haven't heard it already, you're about to receive an introduction to Paramount music. The musical tones that all Paramounts make all the time. This music is often louder than the sound of slewing. Do not be alarmed. There is nothing wrong with your mount. You are about to participate in a great adventure....

Several PMEs have recently sold on Astromart for the price of a PMX or less. The first one to go at that price was only a year old. Going by his Astromart sales history, I think they guy selling it was an idiot. But that sale broke the price dam and all further used PME sales on Astromart have been at low prices.

Here are a couple of pictures of Ms Scarlett..

The pier has a power box with several AC outlets and an ethernet connection back to the house. I run it all from the comfort of my study.

I still need to do a long TPoint run - last night I couldn't get AAG TPoint Mapper to play nicely so I did a couple of manual 20 star runs to sort out a rough polar alignment. I now have the QSI driver so I can use TSX/s Camera add-on. Automation is coming. Tomorrow night may be the night.

I ran a 56 point auto calibration routine in TPoint last night. With supermodel applied, I have a 7 arcsecond error. That is so cool!

Can't wait for a clear night at a reasonable hour to run a full 300 point model.

Your photos show the PMX as a red red. Mine was an early one and its more of a pink red.

I wonder if they changed the colour a bit or was it your camera?

Greg.

Its red red rather than pink red - not that there's anything wrong with pink red.

The photos are taken with a flash so it may affect the colour.

I think the Pink Red like mine, were probably those with slight blemishes in the colour, like mine.

Maybe the difference in color is the first production run vs. the second production run. They probably did a better job controlling the color the second time around.
