Canon/Nikon Current and Future Developments

This is a very interesting read (its Canocentric, but some info on Nikon as well):

Warning this a rumours page, but in the past this guy has proven to be "on the money". If the 5D mark2 specs are any indication then sign me up...

Interesting. I think it's a shame that it won't take EF-S lenses. For people to get a 5D means upgrading all their lenses, a very expensive exercise for some.

well yeah but the writing was always on the wall for the 1.6x crop stuff. I never saw the point of spending big bucks on interim ef-s/dx lenses.

very true..

but now that we know the way forward is ff then for those buying into and slr system would be smarter to go that way rather than outgrow their 20/30/40/400D's etc

I just wish they'd stop pussy footing around and just release a decent full frame at a reasonable price (IMO under $2k is reasonable). The cost of high end DSLR's is obscene and the current philosophy of presenting model after model with only slight improvements in an attempt to extract ever more dollars from consumers is wearing thin.
