Gee, with so many members speaking French, I could have saved a lot of work and left the book to be distributed in French!!

Well I am so glad you provided it in Australian as my French accented voice is not good.

Ken thanks for the translation.I am very impressed with the layout of the book and it provides that link between Astronomy Magazines and University texts.I like that it includes such a diverse number or varying Solar observation types .There is something in there for everyone.
I have already been sidetracked by Chapter 9 so I will probably start my essential reading there.
Once again thanks for letting us all know about this book and your input into the translation.

Derek,
Many thanks
In the amateur solar telescope scene, things seem to change quickly and move fast.
I have to mention the latest spectroheliograph project from Christian Buil.
His 3D printed Sol'Ex design combined with the excellent INTI software by Valerie Desnoux has the potential to transform the SHG capabilities.
http://www.astrosurf.com/solex/sol-e...tation-en.html

Making use of the very small pixel (<3micron), fast frame Cmos (>300fps) cameras and very narrow entrance slits (10 micron) combined with specially designed collimating and imaging lenses, the early results are truly amazing!!
The solar image can be reconstituted from the SHG scan in less time than it took to type this sentence - 3 sec!!! almost real time imaging.

The future of "cost effective" multi-wavelength solar imaging is close to hand.

Mine finally arrived late last week (ordered on the 7th July). But what an astonishing book it is. Well done to all involved. I'm very much looking forward to delving into it.

Ken, I have already learnt so much from you just by being guided in the right direction! It's just my bank balance that has to keep up...
