Hope ya'll like it.

If interested, the higher resolution star & starless versions are located on my site via the links below, or along with my other images here: https://onebreathtakinguniverse.com

Starred

Starless

Target:

Fighting Dragons of Ara (NGC6188).

Distance to Earth: 4,000 light years.

NGC 6188, The Fighting Dragons of Ara, is an emission nebula in the constellation of Ara. It gets its name from the apparent silhouette of two dragons engaged in a cosmic combat.

Due to its hydrogen-rich clouds, NGC 6188 is a region of active star formation, and its structure is shaped by the powerful stellar winds of the young and massive stars within.

The glowing bipolar planetary nebula, NGC 6164, is visible at the bottom of the frame, which some liken to being like the "dragon's egg".

Acquisition:

2 nights:12th & 21st May 2021

Bortle Class 6 Sky in Victoria, Australia

Integration Time: 6 hours & 21 minutes

Focal length roughly 360mm f/3.6 (550mm f5.5 with 0.65x reducer)

Lights: 20x360s Ha, 21x360s Oiii, 21x360s Sii, 3x60s R, 3x60s G, 3x60s B.

Calibration: 80 darks, no flats, or bias.

Thanks Nikolas. Getting better at pushing them without pushing too far. It's all in the eye of the beholder though at the end of the day. If we posted reality it would mostly be black... and wheres the fun in that.
