"Julius Sumner-Miller Memorial" 10" Dobson

a friend has given me a "Julius Sumner-Miller Memorial" 10" Dobson which I am restoring. It looks like it is home-made.

Does anyone have any info, can't find anything on Google.

thanks

I remember Julius Sumner Miller on Australian TV in the late 60’s and 70’s presenting a regular science show called “Why is it so”
He was a Physicist and Mathematician from the US, sort of a wild mad scientist looking guy, enjoyed explaining science to primary and secondary school kids
Maybe someone built the Dob on one of his shows and he put his name on it ??
He was into Astrophysics
Sorry can’t help any further

Search "Professor Julius Sumner Miller" to find a Youtube channel of his TV shows. This helped encourage me in the science direction.

A detailed entry in Wikipedia. He died in 1987 (born 1909).

Of current interest: "In 1993, the Australian Science Foundation for Physics established the Julius Sumner Miller Fellowship in his memory. The fellowship is currently held by Karl Kruszelnicki, best known as "Doctor Karl" for his appearances on Australian radio and television as a science commentator and author."
