Peering deep inside The Swan Nebula

Ok then here is the colour (just for you Trevor! )

Despite the god damn, full bluudy Moon, really nearby !!! I managed to collect 2hrs of OIII and 30min each of Red Green and Blue, to add to the Ha collected a few days ago.

I have created a hybrid Ha/OIII Bi-Colour, near true colour image.

The seeing held to the typical Eagleview standard over the two nights of data collection and man, for a 12" F3.8 Newtonian, operating at 0.84"/pix, heck, I must say I'm very happy with the outcome, what a nebula!

It is so intricate and with so many different fine chaotic features and cross striations, like an Abstract Expressionist painting (think Blue Poles)

Peering deep inside The Swan Nebula

The Full Frame image is a veritable Maelstrom in Sagittarius

Also displayed at AstroBin

See 1834 drawing by John Herschel, with the same framing as the crop above HERE

Hope you like it

That's a beauty MIke. The good seeing is showing up in the superior resolution you are getting.

Cheers Al and yes, hence my comparison with an abstract expressionism painting, the structures in and around the main body of the swan really reminds me of Blue Poles
