I would have to echo pretty much what is above. The filters may need looking at at the F2.2, but in terms of speed I would have said the 2600MM would be marginally faster to acquire data than the 1600 (I will bow to Chris's opinion there theat there is a substantial difference as I never went down the 1600 road) but the F2.2 (Even accounting for the central obstruction) will really make a huge difference.

I have had two near equivalent scopes, an F6.3'ish C925 SCT and a 10"F4 newt and the speed difference between them is stark. Using my old ASI294 I accepted 5 minute subs on the SCT as the camera did not reward going longer. With the ASI2600 on the 10"F4 (I never put it on the SCT) I don't see the point of going longer than 5 minutes for any but the most "Stupidly dim" targets. First light on the 10" was with the ASI294 and my response all night was in "wow" terms as to how it compared to the SCT.
