An image in progress - NGC4650 and friends

Hi

Attached is a 30% crop of a asi2600MC OSC APSC frame of the galaxies around NGC4650.

I took these data last year & have only just performed an initial processing.

180min total exposure with a GSO RC14 @ f/8 + ASI 2600MC OSC camera + EQ8. Processed with APP.

As Centaurus is coming back around now, I thought that I'd get this data out to see if I could add to it this year.

I'd like to go deeper with this, but it looks like its going to take some exposure time to get there.

The attached crop shows (L to R) NGC4622A & B at mag 15 & 14.8 respectively, NGC 4650 & PGC 42911 at mag 12.6 and 15.2, NGC 4650A at mag 14.2 and PGC 42962 at mag 15.2.

I was particularly happy to see that polar ring galaxy n4650A looks something like the much more famous Hubble image of it.

Cheers

Maurice

Hi Maurice

Nice work.
I reckon you could do more on the noise reduction side of things with more integration time and lots more subs.
But I'm sure you know that.
I would go for more than 10hrs on those feint galaxies and an absolute minimum of 30 subs (in my case per channel).

With your big bucket it would be most interesting.

Well done
