StarXterminator for Photoshop and Pixinsight

Anyone else discovered Russell Croman's StarXterminator plugins for Photoshop and Pixinsight yet?

PS: Never mind - I see others are already using it. Great product!

Yes it is a great little addon and works much better than topaz denoise.
Still experimenting with it so as not to upset the purists
Edit: sorry was thinking of NoiseXterminator which could be a game changer as it doesnt affect the stars and is easily adjustable

Yep I've got it. Purchased it when I saw how good it was compared to Starnet.

Then Starnet came out with an update that's as good as StarXTerminator, and it's free... sooo... if you haven't purchased StarXTerminator, I wouldn't bother for now. Stick with Starnet.

There's no doubt starnet v2 is a great product, but I prefer a photoshop plugin so the workflow stays in one place as much as possible.

+1 NoiseXTerminator > Absolutely gobsmakking - it doesn't generate artifacts or mess with stars. Amazing!

Yep, I don't recall the last bit of software that I downloaded as a trial and then paid for a full license within half an hour. I spent a bit of time throwing varied data sets at it and unless you go really silly with the detail slider, it just works.

... and if you're careful with the settings even the faintest stars are preserved. That's a game changer if you're a stretching fiend like me!

I've downloaded the trial of NoiseXterminator but yet to give it a proper go.

Anyone used GradientXterminator? Gradients are a big issue I find when trying to image broadband targets in Bortle 7 skies.

Yes, I use GradientXterminator, and it works well but you'll need to read the manual or the tutorial to get the best results. It's not a one-click thing.

I downloaded the trial starxterminator for PS. When I try to run it it says no AI and gives me an option to download it but when I do it gets to about 84% then kicks back out to the screen where it says No AI. Any ideas ?

There's a support option on the starXterminator web page.

I had the same experience.

I purchased it just before Starnet V2 was released, and kind of regretted it now. Its better than Starnet V1, but Starnet V2 beat it handily in my tests.

Fine if you use Pixinsight. I'm strictly a Photoshop man.
