M 104

Hi all

Attached is an image of M104 taken with a GSO RC14 + ASI 2600MC OSC camera. 4hrs of total exposure from suburban Melbourne & processed with APP.

One image shows the full frame at 25% of full size, the other is about a 25% crop at 50% of full size - both heavily compressed for display here.

Slightly less compressed version here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/991328.../shares/JL01R8

and some more pics here:

Still quite a noisy background with 4hrs. Hasn't really improved from 2hrs exposure, but I guess we have had the moon around....and I am in Melbourne....

cheers
Maurice

You've done a nice job on this one Maurice. M 104 is a difficult one to catch the dust lanes in the edge and lumpiness on top and you can see both in fine detail. A tough one for smaller apertures so the 14 inch has done it's job, especially under light polluted skies and moonlight.

Thanks Mirko & Michael.

I really need more data with this one....but no luck yet with the weather.

I've attached another version which has been processed a little differently with some RL deconvolution as well as DDP.
Its a small 16% crop of the frame at 75% of full size..

cheers

Good result Maurice. The noise is not so bad and could easily be taken care of with a little noise reduction.

That's a really nice close up Maurice. Nice details in the dust lane.

Thanks Geoff.
Any recommendations for noise reduction software?
