Meet Dr David Marlin on the AAIRC

Hi Fellow IceInSpacers,

With Iceman's blessing, I would like to invite you all to a special Australia Astronomy IRC event. Dr David Malin will be appearing live on the AAIRC #imaging channel May 28th, 7.00pm EST.

If you're into Astro imaging I expect to see you online as David is Australia's father of Astro Imaging. :-)

Make sure you have lots of good questions ready to ask David.

You can read a brief bio on David here:
http://www.aao.gov.au/images/general/malin.html

You can view a lot of David's images here:
http://www.aao.gov.au/images/

To get connected you can follow the following instructions:
http://www.southern-astro.com.au/php/guides/irc.php

Please join the #imaging channel after you have connected to the IRC server by typing "/join #imaging".

Sometimes it can take a few minutes to connect into the IRC server, please give it 2-3 mins before trying again.

This service is a semi-professional service; many prominent astronomers often visit as well as many of Australia’s designated observatories, we respectfully ask you to use proper names e.g. "BradM", "JohnSmith", "Harry" etc. when using the service. Please no nicks or aliases.

You can change your IRC name by typing the following command “/name Brad” as an example.

Designated observatory have names like DO3-XXXXX, you will also see some of these users online from time to time.

If you have any questions just drop me a line in this thread.

Cheers,
Brad Moore

Would love to meet David again, i have been fortunate enough to meet him on two seperate occasions, where he autographed my book (View of the Universe) on both occasions.
I was luckey enough on the last occasion, (Because i was early for the presentation) to sit with him and discuss Astronomy.

Great man.
