Rather buy a Modded SPC900 LX than do it yourself?

I have just purchased on E-Bay a Modded SPC900/880NC Webcam. This guy supplies it as a total kit with eypiece adaptor and tutorial for long
exposure as well. This is a good option for those that don't want to mod
thier own or have the knowledge to do it. At first I thought it was a little expensive, but when you add up all the parts it seemed like good value. I wanted to advise others that have been reading the latest forums on modding Webcams. I had been thining about modding but decided I just wanted one that I know works and have the work done for me.

Also, I'm thinking of upgrading to a LX200 from an ETX 125 PE and was curious if any one has some advice on getting an 8" or 10". I have heard that the portability of the 8" is a plus and my main aim at this point is for astrophotography. Any advice?

Cheers,

redbeard

I might have one or two for sale soon, I have modded about 40 of them for a local seller. Have a couple of cameras sitting around home doing nothing. Reason I asked how much was I was wondering what sort of figure one should put on one of these. This price is quite expensive considering the work involved and the cost of these cams to purchase from the UK.

No probs Duncan, I am fully in agreement with you, I just feel that considering I know what it costs to mod one of these cams that the price seems quite high.
