M42 with a new camera

First attempt at M42 with my new camera

Using an 8 inch f4 reflector on an Neq6 mount
100x 60s Ha and 30x RBG 30s each using a ZWO ASI1600MM-C
and porcessed in Pixinsight

Not a bad first attempt. What camera settings did you use?

I think you've got a few things that you might like to look at. It's a bit hard to tell exactly, but some of the stars seem to have dark rings - if you used deconvolution, you might need to tune that a bit.

In the bottom right of the image, there's some horizontal banding there quite visible. Not sure what is causing that.

Just recently I did a M42 and used the HDR processing in Pixinsight. Maybe that's something you could use to add to this to bring out more in the core? Take some 10 sec (maybe even 5 sec) shots to add to it.

Great looking photo with your new camera.
Nice colour and detail.

A few people have been getting strange internal reflections from bright stars with the same camera.
Did you notice any with your exposures?
