Weather Station for Observatory

Hello,
I have been quietly making my own portable/semi permanent observatory. I am now looking at automation. One of my requirements is to monitor weather conditions.

I would like to buy a weather station that I could code to. The idea being that my clearsky software would have more sensors available. could someone please recommend a weather station that I might be able to write some code for?

Cheers,

Trent

Trent, I've found the el cheapo weather stations to be unreliable. I'm on my second one now.

My current one, a WH-3081, has a habit of locking up its USB connection and needing to have all power removed and then the clock reset to get it to talk to the PC. It's now a bit over a year old and the solar panel recharger only maintains battery power overnight if it got full sun all day.

If I was putting a weather station on an observatory I'd look at a wired Davis one. A lot more dollars though.
