Exclamation Outage tonight

Hi all

As the announcement above says, IceInSpace will be offline from 8pm AEDST to about 9:30pm AEDST.

We're upgrading the forum software to the latest version, so there'll be a few new enhancements and features which i'll talk about tomorrow. I'm sure you may discover a few yourself, tonight

We're not expecting any major problems, but we apologise for any inconvenience in the meantime.

Thanks.

Some of the new features available in the new release include:
  • Multi-Quote: allows users to tag multiple posts that they wish to respond to by clicking a small button on each post. Once the user clicks the reply button, each tagged post is quoted.
  • Mark Forums Read with AJAX: If you wish to mark a forum read, you can simply click its status icon on the index page and the change will be processed without a reload. You can even mark individual sub-forums as read in the same way
  • Private Message Preview in Notification Emails: If you have elected to receive emails when receiving a new private message, the email will now contain more than just the name of the user who sent you the message. The title and body of the message will be included.
  • Show Threads or Posts from Quick Search Popup: You can now choose to show search results as threads or posts without having to click through to the advanced search page
  • Pop Up List of Attachments in a Thread: The paperclip icon that denotes whether a thread contains attachments is now clickable. It will pop up a window that shows a list of all the attachments in the specified thread, including file size and number of views.
  • Private Messages: Quota Warning: Once you have reached 90% of your private message quota, you will receive a warning telling you that you have almost reached your quota

as well as a bunch of admin type features that you won't care about, but mojo and I do

The doctors are coming round to put me in a medically induced coma for the duration of the outage, so I will not consciously suffer any withdrawal symptoms....

I live a terribly sad life…

Good luck with the upgrades and changes guys

Dennis

no not that easy, I had to help wrap presents, do Christmas cards (I suggested a blanket email, if they haven't got and email address don't bother. I was visually castrated ) Her work is now worse than mine , so I must learn to keep mouth shut. Yes that's right I too had to talk. Mike you have a lot to answer for in this upgrade/update. I even fixed a PC (ok I have been putting it off for 3 weeks, gave me a chance to do it)

If anyone experienced weird layout issues, or the "Manage Attachments" button is missing, make sure you:

1) Log out
2) Clear your cache
3) Clear your cookies
4) Log back in

And then it should all be fine.

I missed it.
I must have been asleep, while listening to my wife.

Mike.
