New Qhy10 for me!

Hi all,
just puchased a qhy10 from Gamma! Special thanks Theo for spending the time with me on Sat. Greatly appreciated and great service.

The learning curve starts! No doubt the bad weather in Melb is now my fault. Sorry all.
Qhy10 Will be matched to my ed80 initially on my heqpro5 - that should keep me busy for a while!
lots of questions and hopefully a first light pic soon. Now watching for any posts re qhy10!
cheers
Damian

ongratulations Damian. Quite a step up from the DSLR. You should have a lot of fun with this nice little camera. It should match to your ED80 very nicely.
The one thing I will say is ensure you take Bias frames with each set of images. They are really required due to the way the image is read from the CCD. Darks are not needed but still do make a huge improvement. These can be compiled in a library and replaced every now and again.

Feel free to PM me any questions you have regarding this camera.
Good luck.

Theo is something else isn't he? Meant in a good way of course.

Cheers
Doug

Damian, as Dougie said bias frames are essential with the QHY10 as are flats. Darks less so.
Hope you have a good learning curve with the camera as it will soak up lots of photons.
