Howdy,
After reading an alert on Cloudy Nights to this spectacular event at around 2.20pm I quickly set up the Lunt 60mm on its AVX mount in between clouds to animate this NE eruption. Many avi's were later dropped because of cloud interference and I ended up with this 7 minute animation. Link to Astrobin below.
The changes in background light are the effects of lighter cloud drifting through but I did get lucky. Another 10 minutes and it would have been really super.
This area will move across onto the disc in the next day or so and we maybe in for some fireworks... dust of your Solar gear!
