8MP DSLR twin lens kit - cheap!

I was at Dirk Smith Powerhouse in Carnegie VIC and Olympus E300 DSLR twin lens kits were on sale for $911. The E300 is an 8MP DSLR, but that's all I know about it. Sounds very cheap - though I still couldn't afford it.

It's not on the website. It's a clearance item, so other stores that have any stock left might be doing a similar deal.

Ok after a phone call to DSE:

the twin lens kit is just that twin lenses, no camera

price at erina is $881 for the kit (14-45 and 40-150) and the camera and kit is $1598

What I saw was definitely E300 Camera + two lenses. From the prices you're being quoted Houghy, it sounds like it would be a ripper deal.

It's worth noting that the E300 has had some unfavourable reviews, particular problems mentioned were high noise levels and colour balance problems. The sensor is also smaller than current DSLR models.

I went through just about every review on the planet before I bought my 20D, the Oly looks very nice on paper, but there were just too many deficiencies.
