New APM zoom 75 degree

Hello,

Just saw the new APM 7.7-15.4 75 degree zoom eyepiece listed - good ER. Advertises well...

If its as good as the rest of the new higher end range from APM should be a very nice ep.

That was announced several months ago. I put my name down to be notified but never heard anything.

I think it would suit my scope really well as that range works best on my 130mm scope.

I have 3 APM eyepieces and they are among my absolute best eyepieces.

Greg.

I would certainly be interested in the reviews of this in the field - 75 degree FOV throughout the zoom and claims to not have to focus the zoom when zooming in and out is attractive (and for terrestial and astro viewing). Mind you not much change from $625 AUD shipped.

I like my Zeiss Diascope a lot for its range 6.7mm - 25.1mm and the contrast and sharpness. For me the I like the ability to go towards the 20 - 25mm range but like the idea of the 75 degree FOV in the APM (and also the fact you do not need adapters for it like you do with spotting scope eyepieces!). The eye relief of 16 - 20mm sounds good too. Feel like I am talking myself into buying one!

If any one purchases one would be great to have a field test review from you

I preordered one of these yesterday. Jan delivery at the moment but I suppose that could change.

High eye relief and a constant 75 degree FOV. But the compromise is its only a 2X zoom - 7.7 to 15.4mm. I guess you can always barlow it.

I'll post a review of it here once it arrives.

I ordered it based on my confidence that Marcus can deliver an excellent product as my other APM eyepieces are outstanding.

Greg.
