NGC6726 reflection neb. NGC6723 Chandelier Cluster.

Image stats:

RGB 38 x 5m each.
Ha 50 x 5m
Lum 30 x 5m

Total integration 16 hrs.

The Ha component contributed very little (a tiny red smudge), so hardly worth the effort.

Even the Lum improved things only slightly.

I did try 30s subs to find an improvement in the cluster, it did work...but then how to combine it all?

All good fun and thanks for looking and hints always most welcome

Can't help with any hints but it looks fine to me, bringing out the reflection nebs and dark dust lanes as well as trying not to blow out the glob is always a fine balancing act that you seem to have managed. Fine effort.

Top effort PK love the little bit of red I think it just tops off the image. Might give this one a go tonight . Been blessed with perfect conditions and have been lucky to have 2 scopes running for 4 nights straight . Hopefully get tomorrow night in as well.

Very nice colors and image scale. Colours are excellent. I think you could get more details in the blue reflection nebs. Bit of motling in the field and I suspect you might have had to use some noise reduction. It's a faint one up close. Needs heaps of integration time before you get enough SNR to start sharpening.

Thanks Jeff
I am trying to figure out how to use merge mosaic to combine different exposure settings to portions of an image.

I will have to review or backtrack to find out where the mottling comes in.
Noise reduction done to each filter straight after integration ie: the linear stage.

I suppose I could try and add O3, might have a go...

Thanks M

And thanks again to Marc (i took your advice).

Completely reworked things adding 5hrs of O3

Mottling in earlier version was introduced in noise reduction phase.

New version hi res: https://www.astrobin.com/full/vwubec/B/?nc=user

Great work Peter the extra OIII and your revision seems to have brought out a lot in the reflection nebula. I'll have to look thos up and give it a try - not one I've done before.
