The Jewel Box, NGC4755

A quick 9 by 30 sec frames on the Jewel Box star cluster, don't see any point in taking lots of frames as they are just stars, maybe i am wrong?

9 by 30 sec, Flats, Bias, No darks
ASI 2600 MC, No filters
Esprit 120 @F7

Full frame plus a crop

Nice little cluster with that notable central orange star , haven’t imaged the jewel box for a while
It’s always worthwhile imaging open and globular clusters with longer subs and plenty of data as some of them have faint nebulosity in the outer regions and the odd faint Galaxy might pop up as well
You might get a surprise you once you process them

Thanks Martin,

It is a nice target. After looking at some other images I can see some nebulosity and I also think it would look better with some more and brighter background stars, so I may give it another go.

Thanks Marc,

I may try for a few more of these open clusters. They appear 3Dish with all the background stars.
