Cutting out light pollution using RGB with mono camera

Hi All
It is common to use filters for OSC to cut out light pollution giving near broadband colours (such as the Optolong L-Pro) but how is cutting out light pollution achieved with RGB using a Mono camera? Are LP filters used in front of the RGB set?

Thanks

Chris

When you use a mono with color filters you're already narrowing the bandpass. Unless the LP falls within the spectrum you're imaging it's already filtered out.

Hi Marc,
... but aren't the RGB filters for Mono just replacing the RGGB bayer matrix in an OSC to provide a colour image. Thus the effects of Light pollution are the same on both OSC and RGB with a Mono camera?

Chris.

Chris.
The bayer matrix has some color filters embedded in the micro lensing. I don't know what the bandpass would be. But color filters have a known bandpass. Some are narrower than others. So I'd say it's easier to control LP with a mono. You can stack filters together if you want (LP + color). Depending on the transmittance you might have to expose longer.
