Good locations around Sydney Northern Beaches?

Hi there,

About to take delivery of my first telescope since i was a kid and just wondered if anyone has recommendations of good places to go observing around the Northern Beaches of Sydney.

I've had a bit of a drive round and so far think Seaforth Oval and Redhill Reserve might be pretty good, although the Oval is open to the City. Manly Lagoon is on my doorstep and it even seems pretty dark. Would it be any good?

I've done some planet spotting before and am really interested in looking at deep sky objects.

Thanks in advance...!

Jon
