Help me with my SP mount

Hi,

This is probably my first post here, i have been enjoying visual astronomy for a while and I started some basic astrophotography, one thing i am interested in, is to autoguide my mount, and here is my problem i have an old Vixen Super Polaris mount with dual axis drives.

I love this mount and frankly not willing to replace it at the moment.
I was wanderinghttp://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/....estionicon.gif if anyone knows how best to autoguide this mount. BTW not keen on spending over $1000 to get the new Vixen Starbook system especially that Vixen does not think it will be compatible with SP mounts.

thanks for your helphttp://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/....es/happy04.gif

If you have the MT1 motors and the DMD-1 hand controller, I have seen modifications made to the hand controller on the internet, to add an auto guider input.

Cheers

Hi Dennis,

I have the MT1 motors but the controller is different its a Celestron controler and the only labeling is on the internal board that says GPTM.

I though about buying the DD-2 controller from Vixen and modifying it but not confident its the right thing.

Cheers
